Serve The Church

There are many ways to serve the church; some are specific tasks, and others are more time-and-talent consuming. There is a place for everyone to serve.

Tasks

Greeters welcome everyone who comes to Sunday worship and provide information for visitors. Liturgists lead the call to worship and invocation for Sunday worship. Ushers pass out the bulletins, light the candles on the communion table, pass the offering plates, and help serve monthly communion at Sunday worship. The Fellowship Time Crew helps set up and clean up for fellowship time following Sunday worship. Everyone takes turns bringing treats for fellowship time. Flower Arrangers purchase and arrange flowers for the Sunday worship arrangement. Flower Deliverers take sanctuary flowers each week after worship to those on the church care list or those celebrating a special occasion. The Social Media Facilitator helps keep church Twitter and Facebook pages updated. The Sound Technician handles sound equipment for worship and special events. The Website Manager helps keep church website updated.

Groups

In June of 2016, our church has begun an exciting journey focused on strengthening our connection to God and each other. We got rid of the old way of doing things and re-focused our time and attention. Beginning in September of 2016 there will be small groups forming. Each interest based group will meet together to pray, read the Bible, check-in, and explore their faith through a common topic and/or activity. Groups are open to old members and new. Don’t miss out!

The Men’s Fellowship gathers weekly for breakfast, where the men tell jokes, read books, do Bible study, talk about God, ask profound questions, and pray for the congregation. They also help out with jobs around the church, including folding and labeling the church newsletter for mailing. All men are welcome.

  • Wednesdays, 8:30-9:30am, Mulligan’s Cafe, 3500 McCaw Avenue

Faith Formation happens throughout the year. A Bible Study meets every Monday at 3pm in the conference room. Through the year on Wednesday nights at 7pm there is a Pastor’s Book Study. Starting in October of 2016 on Sunday Nights there will be an Adult Confirmation Class called Church 3.0. Plus many more faith formation programs coming in the near future.
